With an impressive 37-year career in broadcasting, Rusty Cone is a seasoned professional in live event mobile production. For the past 16.5 years, he has been an integral part of Bamboo Shoots, ensuring seamless execution of high-stakes live broadcasts. Before joining the team, Rusty spent 18 years at Global TV Saskatoon, honing his expertise in live production and event coverage.
Known for his ability to plan for every possible scenario (Plan B, C, D, and E included!), Rusty thrives in the fast-paced, unpredictable world of live production. His most memorable project? The 2022 SJHL CanAlta Cup Final series—a seven-game battle of epic proportions that included a winter storm, power outages, COVID challenges, bed bugs, power surges, and even unruly fans throwing objects at the truck. Despite the chaos, Rusty and his team delivered a broadcast worthy of the incredible action on the ice.
